Scott is a 1986 graduate of Syracuse University. He earned his MBA from Cleveland State University in 1996. Along with tax preparation, Scott is also the Director of Finance at the Mandel Jewish Community Center.

Scott and his wife of 25 years, Priscilla, have two daughters.

Scott volunteers as an usher at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, and has served as coach for his daughter's softball team. Scott also races Dragon Boats for the Gathering Place.
