Newlab launched in 2016—our flagship location in the Brooklyn Navy Yard dates back to 1902 and served as the primary machine shop for every significant ship launched during World Wars I and II.

Inspired by its rich history, we envisioned a way to return the building to importance by championing entrepreneurship, innovation, and frontier technologies that transform base and build a more resilient, sustainable world.

We are now home to over 155 companies, solving the world’s biggest challenges with leaders and experts across industries and cities.
